The teenager’s name was Muhammad al-Qatta, and he was 14 years old when witnesses said radical Islamists in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo pulled him from his coffee kiosk on Sunday and later executed him in a public square.

The Council of Islamic Ideology (pictured), Pakistan’s top Islamic body, takes a dim view of DNA evidence in the case of rape. The Council, in a rare nod to modernity, is prepared to consider DNA as supporting evidence in a rape investigation, but decreed this week that DNA can never be primary evidence.

The reason: the Qur’an already provides an established procedure for dealing with rape allegations.

According to Pakistan Today,

Most members of the council were of the opinion that Islam gave detailed guidelines in connection with the nature, accusation, justification, punishment and compensation in case of rape of any member of the society.

Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, Maulana Sherani, Mufti Ghulam Mustafa Rizvi and some other members of the council termed DNA test in connection with forced rape as insufficient evidence…

Members of the council said rape was a crime that required much care in account of evidences and DNA did not stand with accurate parameters as evidence for the crime.

How does an Islamic justice system prefer to determine whether a woman was raped? Rapists rarely perform their evil in front of witnesses, but by Allah, the victim must produce four of them to have her day in court. That’s correct: The Muslim standard of justice is that four men in good standing must give testimony affirming the rape took place. Women may not testify.

Oh, and spousal rape is not an offense under Islam at all.

Neither is the rape of a non-Muslim woman if she was ‘captured in battle’ or bought as a slave.

Sorry, ladies.

Does Allah have a deal for you!

After praying for good grades in their exams, a group of Indonesian high-school students received a surprising text message — come to class 90 minutes early and you’ll be given the answers. But it was not divine intervention. The message was from their teacher, who had been leading the prayer session at the Jakarta school and was offering to sell the information for $3 to the final year students, aged 17 and 18.

“Their teacher said their $3 fee would go towards renovating a local mosque,” said Febri Hendri, the head of public service monitoring with Indonesia Corruption Watch, which uncovered the case.

Reuters confirms:

A Muslim convert arrested on suspicion of stabbing a French soldier in a Paris suburb was motivated by religion and had shown some signs of radicalization, French authorities said on Wednesday.

The attack took place on May 25, three days after attackers chanting Islamist slogans killed a British soldier in London.

Two side notes to this horrible event:

1. Muslims, for whom alcohol is strictly haram, can apparently claim diminished responsibility for acts committed while they were drunk. Somehow, being intoxicated makes it better. Who knew?

2. The killer’s name is … Jihad.

A man has killed his pregnant teenage sister in south Lebanon in what was seen as an honor crime — the murder of a woman accused of shaming her family.

Voice of Lebanon (VDL) radio said Friday that the body of Baghdad Khaled al-Issa, 18, was found with stab wounds in her head and sides in the area of al-Wazzani.

Investigators discovered that her brother Jihad, 21, had killed her in what is described as an honor crime, VDL said.

It added that the victim was seven months pregnant.

Later on Friday, LBCI television reported that the investigation with Jihad revealed that he had raped his sister, which lead to her pregnancy.

“He confessed to raping his sister,” LBCI said, adding that Jihad claimed he was drunk when the incident happened.

The television channel added that he had only recently found out about the pregnancy and asked his sister to undergo an abortion, but she refused.

Where did the London duo that hacked a British soldier to pieces in broad daylight on Wednesday get its inspiration? They had been told by an Islamic clergyman to “remove the head of the enemy.”

One of the suspected killers who attempted to behead and disembowel a young soldier in the horrific Woolwich attack had listened to the preachings of a radical Muslim cleric banned from Britain over extremist activities, including alleged links to al-Qaeda, The Independent has learned.

This is the Muslim man who butchered a soldier in London this afternoon. The lack of horror, panic, or remorse on his face and in his body language is as chilling as his bloodied hands and the tools of his handiwork.

A British soldier was hacked to death by two men shouting Islamic slogans in a south London street on Wednesday, in what the government said appeared to be a terrorist attack. Video footage filmed by an onlooker just minutes after the killing showed an angry man with hands covered in blood, holding a bloodied meat cleaver and a knife.

“You people will never be safe. Remove your government. They don’t care about you,” the man, a black man in his 20s or 30s wearing trainers and jeans and speaking with a local accent, said in the footage obtained by Britain’s ITV news channel. “I apologize that women had to witness that, but in our lands our women have to see the same thing,” the man said.

The attackers [there were two] pounced on the victim in broad daylight in a street in the southeast district of Woolwich near an army barracks.

The duo is reportedly in custody.
